A is for ... Adorable Animal Adoption

See, I set a theme, but can I stick to it for even one day? No! Not when there's a new puppy in the house. So we're calling this... Ridiculously Adorable.

Introducing: Maggie! She's a beagle+basset mix. 9 weeks old, and desperate to make friends with the cat(who is full of hate, especially for anything smaller and possibly cuter than she is).

So tired. Surgery is exhausting, and even Squeaky Sock Monkey can't keep her awake.

Please Please Please pick me up. Up with you. Up on the couch. You can't resist sad Basset-hound eyes.

The couch is less fun than anticipated . . .

  1. Oh my gosh, she's too cute for words!! I so wish I could reach through the screen and pick her up. Had to laugh about the cat full of hate too LOL LOL. So typical of a cat. :D

I know I am going to love your theme, I'm totally in love with Maggie already. <3

    1. Yes, she is ridiculous! So cute, and I think she's feeling better today because the other thing she is? SO BITEY.

bite bite bite... puppy teeth are like needles . . . but people make funner sounds than Sock Monkey when bitten.

  3. Wow, She really is adorable. And those eyes, I wouldnt be able to resist them either. I bet even Hateful Cat comes around to loving Maggie.

  4. Right now the angry feline is doing a good job of resisting Maggie... but I've never been so glad I keep her claws sheathed in SoftPaws. She hasn't taken a swipe at her yet, but the paw has been raised again and again. It's only a matter of time before super-friendly Maggie gets popped by Angry Nibbler.

    1. How difficult is it to get your cat to agree to the SoftPaws? I've considered it myself, but I think my spoiled (occasionally hate-filled, especially when it comes to being brushed) cat wouldn't be a fan.

And that's an absolutely adorable puppy!!

    2. It's not too bad. She hates it, naturally. Getting the tips on is the easy part. The rough part is the battle of wills while I hold her for five minutes until the glue dries. If I don't, she rips them off before the glue sets and we have to do it all over again.

After the first application, if you immediately reapply, the application will last a good 4 to 6 weeks. But the first time you'll do it and probably have to repeat a week later as the cat rips them off and with it comes the exterior of the nail(which is what they try to shed with the sharpening action). It takes a month+ for that exterior nail to be ready to shed again, so if you get the tips on at the outset of that time, no amount of biting or pulling will get the tips off.

It's saved the carpets, furniture, and my flesh(she plays rough). And now it's saving the Maggie, who was so bold today that she licked the cat right on the mouth and was rewarded by Nibbler going all cobra on her *SpitSPITspit*

    1. Still cute enough that her crying all night hasn't sent anyone into a rage yet. But her separation anxiety is epic.
