First: update on progress on eWife 3.0, prototype first draft completed a few days ago(yay), it's short but it has all the major scenes in it and is printed out and in a notebook for following along with daily writing schedule. Second story for the Romance Fast-track on the Harlequin forums, roughly plotted out and ready to start on if I decide to storm ahead on it.
Decided to give this a go. First year doing it, and I'm terrible with schedules so it might just go to hell, but giving it a shot!
I've prowled the blogosphere to see the approach of others to this bloghop, and most seem to have a theme of some sort. The only theme I can keep to with any kind of regularity is being ridiculous. I can be ridiculous 24/7, so I guess that's my theme: Snapshots from Ridiculousville. We'll see how that pans out :)
Why not use the theme of ridiculous? There are no rules, and even if tere were, rules are made to be bent and broken. lol
ReplyDeleteI am also in the A to Z challenge this year. Theme? I've yet to decide, so it'll be a fly by the seat of my pants things.
See you on the blogs! You CAN do it, Ms. Ridiculous! lol
I am totally using ridiculous, started thinking up subjects and everything. Random, seat-of-your-pants topic selection is good too, no steel restraints on topics.
DeleteI must admit to having a little commitment envy for the folks who can write for 26 days about some aspect of the same thing in a neat and organized way.
Good luck with your pants-chosen topics! :)
I like your theme. It sounds fun. I've never participated in that challenge, but I admire people who do! Best of luck! And congratulations on your finished draft. Reason to celebrate, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't take too much congrats, it's a short draft mostly with summaries of scenes seasoned with snippets of dialogue and whatever else occurred to me. But, I do feel a little more secure now that my plot won't explode when I get several thousand words in this time... which has to be worth something! (I hope...)
DeleteYay on ewife! And being ridiculous is mandatory. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell that's a relief. Whew, I know the dress code for ridiculous parties.
DeleteFirstly, Yay on finishing Ewife! Can't wait till its in print so I can continue reading it ;o)
ReplyDeleteSecondly, congrats on finishing your romance sub and good luck! I'm elbow deep in revisions, wish I could enter, but I really NEED to get this done. Put it off far too long.
And no, your stories don't have rediculous themes (I know I've only read your NV entry, but I thought it was fresh, not silly). Believe in yourself, you have a unique voice and oodles of talent. :o)
BTW, I tagged you on my blog. Ya don't need to reply if you aint got time
x
I didn't actually finish the manuscripts, just my short prototype draft of eWife, and the bones of the fast-track sub, which I may not actually enter yet. Still waiting to decide on that one!
DeleteThank you for the vote of confidence, and good luck with your revisions!
Will definitely give the questions a go, but maybe not today. It's a busy day :) x
Too cute, Ridiculousville- I'd come back to see that ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a theme either. I figure, next year I can plan a bit more and come up with one. This year will all be random.
I like random too. And Ridiculousville theme is kind of random too, just leaning more toward the super-mega random end of the spectrum of randomness.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I'm with you on the randomness. I'd love to think of enough content to make my blog this month have some sort of theme, but that's just not going to happen. So while of course I'll have writing and book-y posts, I'm sure to have random pictures of my cats or drink recipes or discussions of zombies somewhere along the way.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
There's always room for zombie discussions. Right now, I'm pretty sure that Z is gonna be for zombies. There were quite a number of A for Apocalypse posts I saw day #1!
DeleteI will make a request for random pictures of your cats drinking drink recipes :) (I can always bring the discussion back to the ridiculous...)
